Success Story Summary
FOAMGLAS® Insulation a Proven Performer for State Farm Chilled Water Systems over Five Decades

Since its first project in 1955, State Farm Insurance Company has used FOAMGLAS
® Insulation on more than 80 new-construction and remodeling projects. They include 26 regional offices and rework additions and additions to the corporate office, which was originally built in the early 1970s. Constructed in two phases, the corporate structure originally included five buildings built around an atrium, and several more buildings have been added since. Just as the corporate headquarters has grown, the size of all State Farm office buildings has grown substantially over the years. This increase in building size has naturally led to an increase in the amount of chilled water piping needed. About 30,000 lineal feet of FOAMGLAS
® Insulation protects the chilled water systems of State Farm's corporate and regional offices. The choice of FOAMGLAS
® Insulation was first made in the 1950s when it was determined that the life cycle of FOAMGLAS
® Insulation, along with the fact that State Farm was constructing 50-year-life buildings, made it an excellent marriage. State Farm continues to use FOAMGLAS
® Insulation, believing it to be the best insulation for chilled water systems.
