FOAMGLAS® Insulation Solutions by Application

Tank Base

Tank base applications require an insulation material that exhibits high compressive strength to withstand the heavy loads. Another frequent need is that of resistance to chemical attack from the contents of the tank and any nearby process liquids.

FOAMGLAS® Insulation's high compressive strength allows wide latitude in the selection of a working stress level to achieve an adequate safety factor. Its high strength, rigidity and resistance to deformation under load are unaffected by constant heat, cold, high humidity, rain or snow. Also, because FOAMGLAS® Insulation is 100% inert glass, it is chemically resistant and will not decompose when exposed to chemicals, solvents, petroleum and petrochemical products or food and beverage products that can destroy other insulation materials.

And, because only FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation is completely closed-celled, it is impermeable to moisture. It prevents potential moisture vapor condensation within the insulation envelope.
