FOAMGLAS® Insulation Solutions by Application

Ambient and Above

When moisture enters an insulation system and reduces its thermal efficiency, production costs increase. In applications that operate at ambient air temperature and above, thermal efficiency is also often critical to quality control. These applications typically involve process piping, tanks, vessels and equipment most commonly used by the refining/petrochemical, chemical, pulp and paper, and food processing industries.

Additionally, because many ambient and above applications include heat transfer fluids, hot oil systems, combustibility is also a significant concern. If a pipe or tank should leak into the insulation, the risk of combustion from auto-ignition increases.

FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation is 100% cellular glass and completely closed-celled. It cannot absorb moisture, so it reduces the risk of lost thermal efficiency. And, because it cannot absorb combustible liquids, it is noncombustible and cannot burn.
