Great Northern Paper Chooses FOAMGLAS® Insulation – for the Second Time


When the asphalt mastic failed on several of the mill’s storage tanks at Great Northern Paper Company in Millinocket, Maine, officials chose to use FOAMGLAS® Insulation. When the tanks were originally installed in the 1960s, FOAMGLAS® Insulation was also chosen. In removing the mastic and insulation, it was discovered that, even with the failure of the protective mastic and long-term exposure to Maine’s harsh climate, the FOAMGLAS® Insulation had performed exceptionally well, maintaining its excellent insulating value and dimensional stability.
